Full Blue Moon in Aquarius Horoscopes

The Full Moon in Aquarius is on Sunday, August 22 at 7:01 AM CT. 

It is the second Full Moon we have had in this sign and is considered to be a Blue Moon. 

Blue Moons occur when there is a Full Moon that disrupts the normal pattern of the Moon. It’s most noticeable when there are two Full Moons that occur in the same month. We can also have four Full Moons that occur during an astronomical season (the period between an equinox and a solstice, or vice versa). The third of those four Full Moons will be a Blue Moon. 

Another way of looking at this would be that these two Full Moons will be defining points of Leo Season. The Moon is Full when it is opposite to the Sun. This normally occurs once during a solar season. But this Leo Season it will happen twice. From my perspective, what makes this unique is that it creates two Full Moons that occur within the same sign: Aquarius. 

Full Moons bring cycles to completion and provide space for us to emotionally and physically release something that we are done with. With two Full Moons happening in the same sign we get two opportunities to wrap something up. It also means we have two potential opportunities to reap the rewards from the intentions we set at the New Moon in Aquarius on February 11, 2021.

The last Full Moon in Aquarius occurred on Friday, July 23 at 9:36 PM CT. You might want to go back and read the message from a month ago to see all that has progressed. What we started to realize then is now made clear, but that doesn’t mean that we know what steps to take. 

With the Sun and Moon both at the critical 29th degree, there is a sense of urgency and intensity to our emotions. We’re looking to leaders for guidance, but they seem to be of two (or more) opinions about the right way to move forward. This is particularly true as it relates to institutions of education, philosophy, international relations, and neighborhoods. Once again, we are put into a position of being our own leaders and making decisions about what the rules should be. 

Uranus stations retrograde on August 19, just a couple of days before this Full Moon occurs. It will remain retrograde until January 18, 2022. Uranus is retrograde for roughly six months every year. This time it is happening at 14° Taurus, so if you have placements at or near 14° Taurus, Scorpio, Aquarius, or Leo, this Full Moon could have an element of change or surprise. Others will feel Uranus retrograde as it aligns more with global events, which could involve financial or environmental events. 

This Full Moon occurs just before the Sun enters Virgo. Virgo season brings our attention to details. The details on the leaf of a houseplant. The subtle flavor in a cookie and the single ingredient that makes the difference. The deeper meaning in what someone says. Virgo season invites us into service, which is defined as helping or doing work for someone. Where we feel compelled to serve, we must also be aware of overstepping into martyrdom. A martyr chooses to sacrifice their life and face great pain and distress in order to hold up a belief. Sometimes we have expectations that we have inherited about how we are meant to put our own wellbeing after others, and while this can be a noble idea it can also get in the way of accessing the care we need. This Virgo season, be aware of where you are serving from a heart-centered place and where you are serving others from a belief about what you “should” do. 

Mars and Mercury are already in Virgo at this lunation, inviting us to notice and take action on details related to health. With Mercury opposite to Neptune the patterns that arise might confuse us. Taking these steps in response to this muddle information might have some feeling like they are a victim. ARIES
